Explore Lakeville Landing

Ride the tide and winds of the Petaluma Gap from our shop in the Petaluma Marina to Lakeville Landing. Enjoy sweeping views of Olampali State Park as you glide along the largest, continuous wetland estuary on the Pacific Coast of North America.
Lakeville landing is located at the midway point between the mouth of the Petaluma River and the City of Petaluma. Home to a guest dock that has been used since the 1880’s and a picnic area, Lakeville Landing is the perfect destination to conclude your 5 mile downwind adventure of the Petaluma River. With the wind at your back, enjoy a panoramic vista of Marin and Sonoma Counties with views of oak studded hills that stretch the horizon to Mt. Tamalpais. Twist and turn through the river while spying on native and migratory birds like American green-winged teal, buffleheads, gadwalls and Canada geese. Perfect for beginner paddlers and intermediate paddlers alike, this guided or self-guided, moderate level tour is not one to miss. Upon arrival to the property, rumored to have inspired The Grateful Dead’s “Terrapin Station”, ask us to pre-order a charcuterie & cheese platter, wine tasting or boxed lunch for enjoyment on-site.

What you can expect

Your adventure begins at our shop in the Petaluma Marina. After checking in with our team, you will be fitted for a life-preserver, given a paddle and fit for your kayak or SUP. Most of our fleet consists of sit-on-top single and tandem kayaks and stand up paddle boards that are stable and well suited for beginners. They also have compartments and bungee straps for locking down your water bottles and belongings. If you prefer more advanced equipment, it is available, please let us know prior to your arrival. Once all participants are fitted for equipment, our guide will discuss paddling on the Petaluma River, water safety and instruction on SUP or kayak paddling. From there, your adventure begins on water. You can expect to spend 2 hours on the water exploring the river with our knowledgeable guide at your side.
